Seymour Vets - Veterinary Surgeries, South Devon

Consultations
The veterinary surgeons will see you in the surgery by appointment, which can be made with reception.
However, urgent cases can still be seen on the same day and the practice ensures that no-one seeking
treatment is ever turned away.

What to do if the surgery is closed
The practice provides 24-hour cover at all times. If you have a true emergency, or need urgent advice,
please telephone the main surgery on 01803 866283. Your call will be answered by the duty vet, or instructions
will be given on how to make contact if the vet is at a different location.

Visits
We are happy to visit owner’s premises and make house calls for all species. We do recommend where possible
that you bring patients to the surgery where extensive facilities and trained staff are available. When visits are required
we would ask, except in the case of emergencies, that you telephone the surgery before 9.30am for a visit the same day.

Services
The practice provides comprehensive veterinary care and treatment. All facilities in diagnostic, medical and surgical
veterinary fields are available including our new digital x-ray machine, blood testing, laboratory facilities, ultrasound scanning,
full surgical theatre, anaesthetic and ECG equipment, dentistry and cryosurgery. Preventive medicine is available for all species.
A commercial pathological laboratory is used as necessary, as is referral to specialist centres.

Hospitalisation
Facilities are available at the Totnes surgery. However, we do encourage patients to convalesce in their own homes.

Pet insurance
We strongly advise all pet and horse owners to insure against veterinary expenses, which can be high and ongoing.
Proposal details are available at the surgery.

Terms of business
Payments should be made at the time of consultation or treatment. Vets are always able to accept payment on visits
where possible. Cheques with a guarantee card and most major credit cards are welcome. If accounts are sent,
settlement is required within 14 days. Facilities are available for credit card settlement over the telephone.
We do not offer credit for items purchased in the surgery, including prescriptions, diets,
wormers and flea control products.

Microchiping
Microchipping can help with the safe return of your pets should they go missing. This service is available at the practice.
Puppies and kittens can be microchipped from eight weeks of age. We can also microchip horses.
